Gabriel was finally through with his job, so he decided to write about all his experiences, especially about the motor insurance problems that he has with people. His first article about caravan insurance repairs went as follows:

So, if you don’t know, I work at a hotel as a desk clerk. And with that, comes all the little complaints and annoyances that bother guests, especially when it comes to caravan insurance repairs, and in turn evolve into larger whining, which finally comes back to me. I know, I know, I should not take it personally or even let it bother me since it is part of the job.

What I would just like to say is the fact that why is it that always the meanest people always get what they want?

Here I will provide an example for you.

Man comes in, he is totally unhappy with his room, BUT he won’t go anywhere else. He has all sorts of complaints: Room is dirty, staff is rude to him and he did not get the room he wanted in the first place. Yet, after all of that, all it takes is a discount or a comp. and he is fine.

Another example would be….

A woman walks in with children in tow, and again the room is thoroughly unacceptable. But she is really upset because her caravan insurance repairs are taking place, and her caravan insurance repairs are going to be expensive this time. Bed unmade, the windows smudged, the sink used and there is no toilet paper in the room to speak of. After screeching and just being a bother, (though it is understandable since housekeeping did not do their job) she gets a discount and maybe is upgraded to a much better room, at a cheap price. And all that to insure that the hotel is getting more business.

Sometimes, I just with that I could turn them aside and tell them to deal with the room, and if they were unhappy then to take it up with the room service, not me. But, alas, I am the one that has to take all the heat, because frankly, I need this job.

Now, what is wrong with society that, you HAVE to be aggressive and mean to get things? I mean, I understand the natural order of things, survival of the fittest and all of that, but seriously? What happened to just being nice to people and merely explaining the conflict or problem?

There has to be something wrong with society if this is the only way that we listen. And honestly, I really hate that fact. Maybe this is the reason, that the world is the way it is…..

Yet, all in all I guess it is just the nice people that can make it better, at least before they get eaten alive.
